Stars, and Supporting Actors...?

I always tell my clients choosing items for your Interior is like choosing actors to star in a movie. You have your Stars*, your supporting actors, and your background actors. Everyone plays an important role, and they make the space whole and balanced.

With that said.. here are some chairs that can be found for a great deal at urbanoutfitters.com

Whether they take on a "star" role in your space will depend on several elements.

Pets and Furniture

Pet-Friendly Interior Design Spaces

by Carol Estrada

Let's face it, your favorite pal is a couch hog. If you are living with a furry critter, chances are they've made an indentation on their favorite couch corner all over your new designer couch.

Here are some tips on how to choose fabrics & colors, to help you expand your furniture's lifespan.... while still keeping your cuddle pals favorite nap place, a seating area worthy of passing your dinner guests "sniff test".

Tips:
-Go neutral. Try to stay in a medium range color tone. Not too light, and not too dark. By going neutral you now have a chance of keeping your look fresh by changing pillows as much as you want. Pillows can be easily cleaned, they are a quick way to update your look. When your place has been designed wisely they can change the mood and overall look in just a few minutes. I personally change my pillows three times a year. Ask your designer to help you choose heavy weight strong materials, and ask for scotch guarding.
-Keep a soft pet blanket close to the area your pet likes to conjugate the most. Help them develop a habbit or a usual spot. Blankets are easily cleaned once a week to further help eliminate unwanted pet odors or hair.
-Vacuum the couch weekly, and flip over the cushions often. This helps to keep all the couch cushions evenly fluffed.
-And lastly, re-upholster your favorite couch every couple of years. You do not have to buy a new couch. Simply re-upholster the one you have now. There are many eco friendly reasons to re-upholster your existing couch, and ultimately making it even better than before. And not to mention unique and custom. Cushions can be changed and made more comfortable than before. Nail head trim can be added for more detail, unique and custom fabrics can be used to give you a couch no one else has.

Making better choices, along with proper maintenance when selecting your new furnishings will prolong their lifespan. And not-to-mention, keep from leaving you and pooch at opposite ends of the couch.
